I started #GirlFlixClub, West Sussex’s only ‘Women for Women’ centred club night, after hosting other events for lesbian + queer women. I realised that there wasn’t anywhere to go for a fun night out to connect with other women like me. I found that all the other events were a bit old fashioned, very mixed queer or primarily a very young crowd. Not the place where I would find a girlfriend and enjoy a good dance. So I created GirlFlix!

 

Established in 2022 the events are organically growing  in popularity – it seems there where other out there looking for something different! I really enjoy seeing the women attending smiling and having fun. So many have commented that they have not been out for years and are so grateful that finally there is somewhere to go for lesbian and queer women where they feel safe. We get women travelling from far an wide to come and connect and have fun, including Southampton, Eastbourne and London!

 

GirlFlix is not just a night out, but a community. From the amazing crew that make it happen, to the friendships that form and people that attend and get involved. We are giving people a chance to connect. It really warms my heart and I am proud to be able to make this happen. Thank you to everyone for your support and love xx
